from 26. January 2018 - 15:00
till 28. January 2018 - 15:00
4 people attending
Event description
Personally, this is my favorite weekend of the entire year. It is an opportunity to see old friends (and family), meet new ones and enjoy each others company. if you have kids old enough to join us, please have them come - they are the future fabric of the Lake, and it is great when we can spend time with them in a casual atmosphere such as this. We are so lucky to have these great relationships - I treasure the opportunity to do so "off season". There are so few "pleasures" for men these days - a haircut, a shoeshine, a good cigar, Freezermania...

9:00 am Breakfast at the Sit n Chat.

11:00 am Activities vary depending on weather. We have hiked around the Lake, ice fished, cross country skied, sat around a fire enjoying each other's company , played poker, etc. The world is your oyster. Tom Dodwell added a great voice to a game that we have played the last few years - a great rookie add!

Sunset: Dinner hosted by Bill Polise. Again, significant additions are welcome. There is no running water. Instant food products are welcome. Beer and wine / whatever you are drinking is your responsibility (with the exception of Marty and the Band, who I will provide with dinner and drinks).

Post dinner: The last few years we have been lucky enough to have some great musicians join us. Some members of Harper's Ferry (Marty & Bacon & special guest Kevin Kearns) have joined us. Mike Walker, Geoff Nixon and other's have joined in - all are welcome. A huge addition last year was Glen Dlugosz on bass and Mike, a friend of Scott Citron's joined us. (Glen & Mike knew each other, of course!) The music started around 6:00pm and ended around 2:00am. It was fabulous.

Here's a note from Bill Polise from last year: "As Rich mentions, I have heat & electric, but no running water. What he only hints at is the music.
The "band" is a small group of talented guys who basically play music while others jump in on guitar or vocals or bongos... It is a loose format jam session that allows a guy like me (with zero talent) to sing along to the songs we all grew up listening to. Yes, the best part is: no one will remember how bad you are."

Would be nice to add a horn section this year! Joe Hart and Jay Reisenman?
