Ladies and Gentlemen,
This is it. The last ride. The grand finale. The last Hurrah. The tailgate we will talk about for years. You are going to want to tell your grand kids about the tailgate that happened in 2016 at the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500… We have been talking about this since we started going to turn 3 on race day 8 years ago. We are incredibly lucky to have arguably the greatest party planner in the history of party buses, kegnasties, bottle services, vegas trips, bachelor parties, wedding dance parties, and MLK day celebrations planning this tailgate- Jarrod Shaw. Be greatful. Say thank you. Show up.
To put things in perspective, race day parking passes in turn 3 have already sold out. They have estimated this to be the largest Indy 500 attended. EVER. Over 500 thousand people could be at the track on this day. Luckily, Shaw was able to get 4 parking passes, and we may have 1 or 2 more available to us. If you have a truck, please contact Shaw or myself and we will try to get you a pass. If you do not communicate with Shaw or myself and don't have a parking pass for yourself, then don't plan on bringing your car into the track.
In years past, we have required everyone that comes with us to bring a case of beer as your admission into the tailgate. This helps ensure we don't run out of beer, as it is inevitable that people will show up that we didn't know would be at the track. The extra beer has always ensured everyone has a good time! Food will also be something you will want to bring for yourself. Hamburgers and hot dogs are good choices and we will have a grill for you to cook them on.
I have tried to invite the regulars, and I know Shaw will add about 69 girls to the event as well. Keeping the case of beer as the cost of admission in mind, feel free to invited who ever you want. This includes mothers, brothers, sisters, cousins, **** buddies, baby's mamma, Baby's daddy, hair dressers, bosses, favorite starbucks barista, hot girl at the gym, or crossfit butt buddy and lets get weird!! Also, I know someone of you are having babies or already had a baby... I suggest leaving those things at home. I can't imagine anything worse than losing a baby at the track on race day.
Sunday, May 29th "Race Day":
Even though we will have parking passes to set up the tailgate, we will want prime real estate. With that being said, we will be meeting early at a location to be announced at a later time. We will be leaving this location for the track at 3:30am- Track opens at 5:30am. We got great parking spots the last 2 years by doing things this way, so we will again be leaving bright and early and already have the tailgate set up by the time the sun comes up.
We will have coolers and a grill so be sure to bring a case of beer and something to eat. We will get the ice on the way to the track like usual. A lot of people drove last year, parked outside the track, and walked in next to the trucks- great idea for those of you that own a Prius, Focus, or any type of ecofriendly car not fit for the Infield. A suggestion: pay to park in someone's yard if you do this... Cars got towed last year by parking along the street.
