EINAR STRAY ORCHESTRA (NO) „Dear Bigotry“ Tour 2017
Support: Rews (UK) + Therese Aune (NO)
"We find ourselves in an artistic renaissance. We have sharpened our expression."
Einar Stray Orchestra, the colourful, overwhelming indie band from Sandvika in Norway, announces its third album „Dear Bigotry“. The album was created last winter on a small island in the north-west-coast of Norway. While winter storms were roaring outside the studio windows the five band members and producers Marius Hagen (frontman of Team Me) as well as Øyvind Røsrud recorded these ten songs. In this seclusion they let their soundscape be inspired by Arabic folk music, Stravinskij, Japanese metal, Mars Volta, Dirty Projectors and Lana Del Rey. And yet the band’s sound arises from an unusual setting in indie rock: The predominant absence of guitars is met by Stray’s piano as well as cello and violin. The strings though aren’t used kindly, fragile or fiddling but are and were always an essential element of the sprawling song cascades. The new album “Dear Bigotry" is out February 17, 2017, via Sinnbus and Toothfairy.
THERESE AUNE (NO
Therese Aune operates in an evocative sound universe, where soaring synthesizers meet a sonorous powerful voice. The result is minimalistic and analog sounding dream pop. The past few years, Aune has been involved in making music for films, sound books and art installations, besides playing concerts in and outside of Norway. Amongst the highlights are festivals like By:larm (NO), Iceland Airwaves (ICE), Berlin Festival (GER), Días Nórdicos (ESP), SXSW and CMJ (US).
Rews are the sassy London / Belfast based high energy alternative rock pop female duo consisting of songstress Shauna Tohill and vocalising beat-rocker Collette Williams. Together they are creating a genuine buzz on the UK/Irish music scene. Shauna & Collette have performed at a string of high profile festival performances including Glastonbury, Green Man & Kendal Calling to name but three.
