I have walked many, many miles, with my cameras in hand, across cities living and legendary. From California to Colombia, from Mexico to Argentina, from the urban sprawl of São Paulo to the abandoned ruins of Machu Picchu, I have walked this hemisphere in search of the unique, the common, the ironic, the colorful, the light and textures of life.
Hundreds of rolls of film. Thousands of hours walking, developing, scanning, printing and preparing over the course of 10 years. Tens of thousands of miles flown there and back again and again. The public spaces shared by over a hundred and fifty million people, bound together by a common thread of concrete and creativity.
Join me as I show off that which I have completed thus far and preview what will surely be one of the most unique and heart-felt works of creative expression produced in this decade.
This is but the beginning of what will be a much larger show which will debut in Guadalajara, Mexico in late 2018. It is my hope to return to each of the cities I photographed, to share with each community the vision I have collected of humanity, and to return to them the images I took from them. A complete set of my black and white works from each community will be donated to a cultural institution in that community as a gesture of good-will and gratitude for the hospitality I have enjoyed in my work and my travels.
